One of my all-time favorite drinks is Boba or Bubble tea. But, most Southerners have no idea what it is or why anyone would drink it. Let me break it down for y'all in 3-easy steps!
1. Bubble tea, also called Boba tea, is an Asian fad that has made its way across the globe and into our hearts. If you have never tasted this yummy drink, My Picqasso's ART BAR in Spring, TX offers free tea tastings of Milk, Thai and other special flavors, with popping pearls. So, have a Boba tea tasting at the ART BAR on Main St. in Old Town Spring for something new, refreshing, yummy and wonderful!
2. There are two main types of Boba teas: regular and milk teas. Think Green and The New Black; your green teas, and your black teas with milk. What separates these from southern teas is the milk or boba pearls. So, drink it for the health benefits of tea.
3. Boba pearls are little balls of tapioca. People who hate tapioca typically LOVE the pearls. Weird, I know. The tapioca balls are cooked, cooled in a simple syrup, and slurped out of the drinks with extra-large straws. Popping Boba pearls are little balls made with a thin skin filled with flavors, like blueberry, that pop in your mouth and gives you a refreshing burst of goodness! So, drink it for the fun experience of popping or chewing while drinking.
My Picqasso's Art Bar at 123 Main Street in Historic Old Town Spring opened to the public, March 15, 2018. Stop by, come say "hi" and taste some colorful and iced cold Boba or Vietnamese coffee!
